2020 - The Year of Firsts
I am not going to try and tell you that I am a literary genius or that my writing ability is anything to write home about. What I will tell you is that I am a 40 something wife and mom who loves to read and most importantly, I absolutely love sharing my love of reading with others. Adults, children, storekeepers, anyone who will listen.
As a child, I always loved a good book and would get lost for hours in a story. I was lucky to have a dad and an older sister who encouraged reading from a very young age. Reading taught me that no matter what was going on in "real" life, I could always escape in an exciting book. Some of my childhood favorites were The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
I am very involved at my local library and people always ask me for book recommendations. So my New Year's Resolution for 2020 was to start a blog for readers and non-readers who want to become readers. I do this for one reason only, to spread the joy of reading.
I apologize in advance, I am sure that many of you could do this better than me, but here's the thing, I am taking the plunge, putting myself out there and hoping to share my love of books. Enjoy and thank you for tuning in.
